Civility is not a sign of weakness

In these torrid times, it is easy to forget that the space created for many Malaysians to voice their views, particularly in cyberspace, is the direct result of Pak Lah, Najib and Barisan Nasional, in general.

There have been abuses. This is irresponsible behaviour.

I am reminded of John F. Kennedy's Presidential Inaugural Address on Friday, January 20, 1961, where in his speech he said that, "Civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof."

This phrase, I think, aptly captures the degree of wisdom and restraint displayed by the leaders to-date. This must be recognised and, lauded. Inasmuch as brickbats may be thrown where it is deserved, due credit must be given where it is due.

I agree. Well, said.

And I say as much in Mustafa K Anuar's post today - so I won't do a broken record here. Hehehe
