www.rangsanganekonomi.treasury.gov.my

According to Deputy Finance Minister Kong Cho Ha the government will be launching a website to monitor the disbursement of funds under the two economic stimulus packages.

This will provide some measure of transparency in the processes involved in disbursing the RM7 billion first stimulus and the RM15 billion component of the second stimulus.

The website www.rangsanganekonomi.treasury.gov.my (Update 10/04/09: I've just embedded the URL link) is intended to provide details on how the funds are used and provide data on the allocation and amount spent, number of projects implemented and the progress.

Will the government also provide the names of the companies undertaking the projects and the time-frame for completion of such projects? This will facilitate accountability.

Let's see how the website will look like when it is launched.

Hopefully it will be user-friendly with interactive features to allow feedback from the rakyat.

Hopefully the data will be updated very, very regularly.

Hopefully.....

Rather doubt that they'll list the companies. What was it - 30k projects?

If they break down disbursements by type and date, I'll be happy enough.

De Minimis

Attached is a link to BBC which reports that Malaysia is one of 3 countries on OECD's blacklist of non- cooperating countries on tax havens.

Thanks for the link, chapchai

Actually it's four countries. LOFSA has already issued a statement that they are in fact in compliance and shouldn't have been included in the list:

The website is up...and it's disappointing. Hardly any info yet except a detailed breakdown of the two packages. That's nice but hardly sufficient.

Where's the implementation numbers?
