Datuk Shah Rukh Khan

I don't normally like to indulge in the silliness of Malaysian state leaders when it comes to the business of handing out honours and awards. But I feel compelled to point out that Malaysians in general and, Malaccans, in particular, should wonder about the worth and value of their state honours outside of our parochial little world.

Here, we have the Star Online reporting about the the perplexed and puzzled Malaccan public in the article entitled, People just Khan believe it!
.
.
Then, to add insult to the injured pride of Malaccans, I read in the Straits Times of Singapore that Datuk Shah Rukh Khan was in the southern Republic at the material time (lawyer-speak for during the same period of time in question) to attend the Zee Carnival at Suntec City. Read the piece Long wait to see Shah Rukh.

Datuk Shah Rukh was quoted as saying, 'You make me feel very loved, very important. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart, to loud shrieks from the audience.

Y.Bhg. Datuk Shah Rukh also said, 'It has been a while since I last performed here. I'll come back and do a full show for all you wonderful people of Singapore.'

In the meantime, sweaty-palmed Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam is quoted as saying that Tun Daim Zainuddin was making arrangements to bring the actor to Malacca to receive the award in a special ceremony.

I want to be kind. I'll just hazard a guess that Datuk-designate Shah Rukh had a scheduling conflict and, he regrets that priority had to be given to paying fans in Singapore over nervous state officials wanting to confer non-remunerative honours.

I don’t know this khan fello that much and i don’t watch such movies. But to me the unsung datuks and tan sris are the silent BolehLand people who do great deeds quietly. Money fame and fortune seem to taint the datukship so what’s so surprising that it is awarded to those who meet that criteria.. It’s a insult to Malacca that the khan-fACTOR promoted their city to the world. See No Can Do for a Khan Can Get! http://www.jonathan66-my.blogspot.com... will sean and cathy get a tan sri since they shot in kl and malacca.. two versus one state?

Tuan,
