Are those necessarily negative traits? I'd say they are precisely why Anwar has survived political crucifixion and risen from the tomb to haunt Mahathir and his handpicked Umno Baru glove-puppet, Najib. Bear in mind, too, that Najib has been spending literally MILLIONS trying to buy himself "good press" from the international media. It would appear that "bad press" for Anwar Ibrahim equals "good press" for Najib. Wonder who brokered the deal with this particular hack? :-)Starmandalahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03349987009726416189noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-600802170849928872.post-81930431647368074592009-08-03T11:23:04.315+08:002009-08-03T11:23:04.315+08:00It's been some time since I left a comment her...It's been some time since I left a comment here. It's mostly because I read the posts from a desktop RSS reader (FeedDemon) - the only practical way to follow many blogs, plus optimise a slow connection.

Anyway, I've only discovered The Economist since 2006. But having read it, I'd say it's one of the best news magazines when it comes to "neutrality" and writing quality.

But for this particular story, the writer should have mentioned and taken into account the surprising narrow win in Manek Urai. While it's true that PR had won five of the last six, this one is the very latest and is significant.

Permatang Pasir will be crucial for Anwar. BN might lose yet again but if they can reduce the majority, they will be heartened. My reading of it is that a significant number of the Chinese may be adopting a "let's see how first" with Najib. They need not swing to BN - being neutral is already bad news for Anwar.Mat Cendanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14912016111197047017noreply@blogger.com
